These steps apply to UK Personal accounts. If you have a Business account, please log in to see the steps that apply to you.
When you add your credit or debit card to your account, you may be required to confirm it.

If you have a Maestro card, here's how. For all other cards, see below.

To link your card:
1 Log in to your PayPal account or create one if you have none.
2 Click Wallet at the top of the page.
3 Click the card you want to confirm. (You'll only have the option to confirm          cards with a 'Confirm' banner.)
4 Click OK.
When you click ‘OK’, we'll charge your card £1. This will 'link' your card. We'll refund the money into your PayPal account within 24 hours of you confirming your card.

Check your card statement within 2-3 working days and find the randomly generated 4-digit PayPal code beside, or near the £1 charge. The code will be printed next to the word 'PAYPAL'. If your online card statement shows pending transactions you may be able to see the code within minutes. If you can't check your statement online, you can wait for your next paper statement or contact your bank.

Once you have the code, you can then confirm your card by following the below steps:
1 Log in to your PayPal account.
2 Click Wallet at the top of the page.
3 Click the card that you're ready to confirm.
4 Enter the code and click Confirm.

Following the steps listed above will lift the limits from your paypal account and from now, you can send as many thousands of pounds you want to via paypal and you can shop anywhere paypal is accepted.

For those in other parts of the world, most especially Africa, where Paypal is not generally accepted, i will write a post on how to successfully verify your paypal and use it to shop anywhere around the globe.
